Let’s get started!

exi are proud to share the news of the commencement of the Full Business Case for the Gloucestershire Cancer Institute project which Cheltenham and Gloucester Hospitals Charity has recently launched as a public fundraising appeal, to transform the facilities and experience for cancer patients in Gloucestershire and surrounding counties.

exi were appointed in August 2024 to develop the Full Business Case after the project was given the green light by Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust with funding from the Department of Health and Social Care. This followed a successful Outline Business Case in 2023, with exi working collaboratively with the Hospitals Trust, Charity, and other stakeholders.

exi are providing a full suite of multi-disciplinary consultancy services to support the Full Business Case and Estates Annex; including the development of the operational brief, development of the technical design solution, submission of the full planning application, procurement, authoring of the FBC and collation of the supporting estate’s annex.

The services we are providing across our multi-disciplinary team are;

  • Strategic & Technical Advisory
  • Project Management
  • Cost Management
  • Architecture
  • Building Services Design (MEP)
  • Healthcare Planning
  • Digital Management
  • Planning Consultancy
  • Principal Designer (CDM)
  • Net Zero Carbon Advisory
  • BREAAM assessor
  • Civils, Structures, and Highways engineering

The aim is to complete the Full Business Case as the charity raises funds, with the first milestone being the commencement of a phase 1 new build – with the community’s support we hope to progress to construction of this first phase next year. This project is a great example of collaborative work that will certainly achieve great outcomes for the Trust and the local community.

We look forward to sharing more as the scheme progresses in the coming weeks!
